Other Front Cover Images

These images had a dark shadow in the bottom right corner. Although this could have been easily sorted out on Photoshop after taking more images I decided I liked the image better when the model had her hood up.

This image had the skirting board in view at the bottom and also the wires and carpet. there was also too much space at the top of the image.
this was one of my best images along with my final chosen image. however after taking more photos I liked images better without the models plait in view. It made the magazine appeal to a wider audience.

In these images I had not framed the image correctly so her hands weren't in the image fully. the images were also very dark and the models head was slightly tilted.
similarly with another image this one also had too much white space at the top of the image.

In these two images the left hand was slightly blurred and the mask was squashed upto the hoodie.

fonts

I went onto a font website and chose a few that I thought suited the genre. The top one is more medieval styled. the second connotes blood and gore. The third and fourth connote breaking. The fifth connotes different cultures associated with bands such as Rammstein. And the last symbolises terror. I have chosen the fouth font. It looked better behind my image and it didn't take away from it.

Social Status

Social status of my target audience will be working class. Language will be minimalist using slang and minimalist amount of text. The only time a person will read a lot of text is in an interview. Focus on the text in there rather than outside of it. The price of my magazine will be around £2.20 because that is how much Kerrang is to buy. Other rock/metal magazines are slightly more expensive ranging from £2.50 - £3.50 and they are significantly less popular. Maybe the price is why. Working class can't afford to spend over the odds for a magazine.

Genre Outfits

These are three outfits I have put together that represent rock/metal music. Each one is very different with there being two male outfits and one female. they are every day to day outfits. Most wear band merchandise so I used t-shirts, a necklace for the female outfit and a sweat band. Converse and vans are the main two brands within this genre of music.

I have chosen the name 'Core' for my music magazine. Predominantly because the music type is either 'metal core' or 'rock core'. Also because my magazine will be the basis of rock. To finding out everything and anything about a rock artist. I asked my target audience and the name that seemed to be most popular was either Core or Volt. I decided in the end to go with Core.
Choice names for my rock/metal music magazine;

  • Riot
  • Rage
  • Eruption
  • Force
  • Break
  • Massacre
  • Slayer
  • Carnage
  • Panic
  • Vault or Volt
  • Core
